Child Custody

Decisions regarding the custody of children can be the most important and contested issue in a divorce and certainly in a modification in which a change in the custodial parent is requested.  The State of Texas encourages parents to share in making decisions about their children though a Joint Managing Conservatorship custodial arrangement.  While most parents agree to the terms of their co-parenting arrangement, disagreement can lead to vigorous litigation involving court-appointed psychologist and amicus attorneys who represent the children's best interests to the court.

Our lawyers at Cothrun & Lucido have many years of experienced in guiding clients through the contested custody proceedings. By evaluating your situation and your children’s needs, our lawyers can assist you in pursuing what is best for your children through an alternative dispute resolution process or, failing agreement, through trial on the merits in court.
